I create mixed‑media artwork inspired by the quiet magic of the beach and the natural world. My work is rooted in the textures, colours, and rhythms of the coast — the shifting tides, the weathered surfaces, and the sense of calm that comes from being close to nature.
A big part of my process involves gathering materials directly from the shoreline. I often work with sand, shells, driftwood, sea‑worn stones, and other natural elements that carry their own history. I love the way these materials hold traces of the ocean — the softness of something shaped by waves, the roughness of something exposed to sun and salt, the unexpected beauty in things that have been washed up and forgotten.
Alongside these found elements, I use paint, inks, fabric, paper, and layered mixed‑media techniques to build depth and movement. I’m drawn to textures that feel organic and tactile, and I often experiment with combining natural materials with more traditional art mediums to create pieces that feel grounded, earthy, and full of character. Every layer is intentional, and every material has a story.
My business is named after my late mum, Ivy May, whose creativity, kindness, and love of simple beauty continue to guide me. Carrying her name in my work is my way of honouring her and keeping her spirit close as I create.
Each artwork I make is a blend of memory, emotion, and the natural elements that surround me. My hope is that when people connect with my pieces, they feel a sense of calm, presence, and connection — the same feelings that inspire me every time I walk along the beach
